Abby du Murier de Sordeille
Abby du Murier de Sordeille was born on September 21st, 2005 in a small family owned and operated kennel in the south of France. The kennel du Murier de Sordeille, owned by Guy and Corinne Bonnefoy, is well known in France for producing excellent quality dogs with an outstanding temperament. An irreproachable temperament has always been the Bonnefoy's top priority, and it is also my top priority.
Abby is my first Beauceron, and she stole my heart away from day one. She has far surpassed my expectations. Abby was well socialized as a newborn, and the socializing continued from the day I got her and still continues to this date. As a result, she loves people, seeks out their company, and feels very confident around people of all ages.
Abby's training began at the age of 3 months, with basic obedience, which she has picked up very quickly. Her career in tracking began at the age of 6 months, and that is truly where she excels. Her parentage on her mother's side is known for producing excellent tracking dogs, an ability that Abby has clearly inherited. As of late 2007, Abby was the first and only Beauceron to earn a TD title in Canada, and she is well on her way to earning her TDX title. She has also amazed the judge during her herding instinct test in the fall of 2007, because of her natural ability. We have recently begun dabbling in agility, another sport which she has picked up very quickly, showing no fear of the equipment. A recent introduction to cani-cross was also a success.
Abby's first exposure to the show world was on September 16-17th, 2006 at the National Beauceron Show in the US. Since she was 4 days shy of a year old, she was unable to compete for the top prize. She nevertheless placed first in the "classe débutante" (9-12 months old), and received the highest score of all dogs at the temperament test, with a score of 95/100. At the National Beauceron show in the US on October 12-14, 2007, Abby not only placed first in the Open Female class, but also took the Best Female, Best of Opposite Sex, and on top of that, Best Temperament Female.
Abby's hips have been certified by the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) with a rating of Good. Her heart has been checked by a veterinarian and is in excellent condition.
